Agree with GoS, go German(ish). Second hand Octavia would be my

recommendation. Everything you love about VW (styling + reliablilty) at a price you can afford. I gave up on Ford after three successive cars blew the gasket at around 100k. Rubbish. Will never touch Ford again. Expect to pay around 5k for a 2009/2010 with around 90k on the clock
