"I" am playing in the Championship. But "we" will try to go the next step.

I like that. He could have said "I" in both cases, which would have signalled that he wants to do well for himself, then he can get a move to the big league. But not Marcel, he said "we", which means he's a team man.

Unless I'm reading too much into it.
