If I roof your building I need to know the pitch so I as the contractor can suggest which tile/slate I can use so I read the suppliers literature to see if it conforms. And the architect surely who specced the materials involved for the cladding and I am even surprised the fire prevention side of the fire service were not involved in the process at least when what we used to call a 11D inspection of the property.
