I did the CB thing in the 70s, starting off with illegal General Electric AM radios. Worked my way up to SSB radios (Cobra 148 GTL DX) and on to getting my ham radio license.

It was pretty crazy then listening and talking with people all around the world.
At the time it was pretty out there but now with the internet it seems like nothing.....

Listening to all the strange sounds coming from around the world on a general coverage receiver.

Interesting fact...this Peter Gabriel song was influenced by that very thing. One of my favs too.
