At a guess, I'd say it could be down to whose wifi you're signing in to
I use the Cloud (when it works) and when I initially signed in to use it aeons ago, I had to enter my email address. Same with a few other shops providing wifi.
So I'd assume that if I signed into the Cloud away from home, in Brum perhaps, that it would see where I am and send an email to the address I signed up with initially.
