Also, if you just make it black and white and demonise the other side forever because of what has happened in the past the cycle of violence is perpetuated forever. For it to end people have to have the guts to put the past behind them and make compromises in the cause of peace. McGuiness was one of the rare people who was able to do that, thereby facilitating an end to the violence and killing.
