He was opposed

UkIP, the greens. If his constituents didn't approve of the stitch up there was always the opportunity to stand an independent or simply abstain. No one was forced to vote for him.

He is no less 'properly elected' than a labour or Tory candidate in a rock solid seat opposed by a paper candidate.

He is actually a good constituency MP.
