The PE view is one view
but there are others.
The Tories hate Bercow because he's not acted as a Tory stooge while speaker.
Is he perfect? Absolutely not. But I think he is an honest man, if afflicted by a tendency to self-aggrandise.
He's about as politically neutral as Speakers get, and while I am happy to criticise him on this or that over gin, I'm not sure we've had a better Speaker since Weatherill.
