There is in fact a plan. The owners and Moxey know we're carrying too much deadwood. They don't want to bring in another manager to immediately bear the brunt of pruning swathes of a team including loyal servants such as Russell Martin or at the least long(ish)-term players such as Turner, Bassong, Ruddy, Whittaker so..

They're giving AN the task of carrying the axe - giving him the objective to have a clear out this season and then bring on the youth and we'll consolidate in the Champs this year (most likely) and spend money next year to introduce one or two experienced, quality players to an otherwise fresh, young and hungry squad.
