You're giving more tactical preferences imo

I'd say a good manager:

1. Commands respect from his squad and sees that they play to his demands.

2. Has tactical knowledge.

3. Knows his players well and can identify their strengths and weaknesses.

4. Has good organisational skills.

5. Is able to consistently motivate his team. That means not only when riding the crest of a wave, but also when looking to bounce back from defeats.

6. A lot of good managers are also adept at keeping pressure away from the players. Ferguson and Mourinho are the masters.
