ie, a much much deeper problem than simply recruitment, and one that won't be solved (however much the club would like it to be) by moving on players in Jan and bringing in others.

We could have the best recruitment team and strategy in the league, but it matters not a jot if the manager doesn't know what to do with them once they are here, how to motivate them, how to coach them, how to play them, etc etc.
