It's not what McNally had over them,
It's more a reflection on the current regime. More specifically, recent changes in how local media are fed information from within. It's no coincidence that a number of media outlets started publishing more negative material after a certain individual started working for the club.
You only have to look at how the supporters groups, both home and overseas, have recently aired frustration at being shut out to understand where I'm coming from.
