When the s**t hits the fan, pilots are taught 'Aviate, navigate, communicate'. ie, talking to others is secondary to fixing the problem.

As much as some will whinge about not hearing what is going on, he'd be better off staying out of the limelight and letting results on the pitch do his talking for him rather than wasting time battling with the media

(granted, he may not have much choice but to go into bat, but...)
