he could turn it around and get us automatic promotion, that wouldn't be enough for some, it'd be "he should've won the league with that squad"
many now refuse to give him any credit for getting us up a couple of seasons ago: 'we had the best squad in the league, even my granny could've got us up'

it's all a bit wearisome and dilutes many valid complaints that may also be being made
