one thing i would say is.....
having seen many a claim in a previous job.
if the will states equally three ways then the executors must do this.
however......how they do it is up to them. as long as the assets have been identified and therefore they receive equal measure at the end then thats cool.
so if theyve taken stuff already you would expect the mil to get more than one third of the house sale.
sadly if there is bad blood or issue the only thing really is to get your own solicitor and ask to see

a breakdown of all assets held
a breakdown of what has already been taken from the estate and confirmation of what she will receive.
