that if they were to get away with paying him nothing, then they'd have to give 12 months notice...ie at renewal time, "Sorry Nigel, but we won't be renewing your contract next year".

But that would harldly be condusive to the team cause, to have a man around knowing he was off, going through the motions for a year.

The Board have endorsed their position over Nigel by giving him over ?3m to spunk in a day. He's going nowehere for now, which is just as well as two other Championship clubs are seeking managers. Who the hell do you get?
