On the subject of dark chocolate (raised last night)
I bought - and ate a piece of - a bar of artisan 100% dark chocolate the other day. No sugar or anything else added.
The guy in the shop tried to warn me ("Er, have you ever eaten 100% before? If you must, then let it dissolve on your tongue rather than bite it.") But I was feeling curious / macho (and you can't really back down at that point).
I really, really wouldn't if I were you. Ever. The darkest reaches of extreme bitterness. God knows what those South Americans were thinking when they first ate it.
