After the last election, he (in league with the govt) forced a media blackout on reporting about the immigrant boats trying to reach Australia. That's why it appears that the boats have stopped. There's multiple sites that still post about the boats on a near daily basis but they have to s**t down and get new URLs each time they're forced to close.
