he knows only because the club tells him - on the condition that he doesn't tell.

So either:

a) he knows things but reveals nothing, or
b) he reveals what he knows but doesn't get told anything

Of course at least option b) keeps his integrity., and he would be free to print anything he found out from unofficial sources. (He might lose access to club employees but since none of them ever say anything remotely interesting - just PR spin - that would be no loss.

Is there anything in football less interesting than interviews with players??? I think not!
