It's odd, but then the whole atmosphere at the game was odd in that it was a relegation
party. Maybe the players were affected by that. But, realistically, most players probably shrug relegation off as an occupational hazard that only affects their lifestyle peripherally. They might be hit by a drop in wages, but they know they won't be sacked.
