Yeah, the cellars were ace. On the camp there were loads of secret tunnels

linking up the whole camp - they went from apartment block to apartment block. They were strictly forbidden other than military personnel, but one of the kids' dad was an MP and occasionally used to nick a key to get into them.
They were scary as f**k - apparently when the Russians advanced & took Berlin, loads of German soldiers hid in the cellars on the camp and the Russians flooded them with water to drown them.
Naturally there were lots of tales about German Soldier ghosts. As a 10-14 year old it was the stuff of dreams!
