Not just football. Society in general.
There was an interesting piece on why drugs are illegal in the Guardian the other day (the gist of it being to sell newspapers and keep those in power happy). Then there's also politics etc. A book called Matchdays by Ronald Reng (German) explains about drugs and match fixing in the Bundesliga in the 1960s and 70s.
