As far as I know he worked his entire working life at the estate,
My great grandad owned a farm at Burnham Overy Town and I know my grandad helped out there a lot when he was young. Then he got a job at Holkham through a friend of my Great grandad. He then stayed working there for around 60 years.
He had the farm for a long time too which he used to run at the same time. When I was a kid I used to work on the farm with him. I used to go and spend the 5 weeks of summer holidays out there with him. He taught me to shoot from a young age (I still have his rifles now) and one of my best memories was going to the farm during harvest and given the job of shooting the rabbits that got chased out of the fields by the combines coming through.
