What did your grandfathers do?
'The research suggests there is a clear correlation between the social background of a child's grandfather and eventual labour market success...'
Anyone read this report?

I'm not quite sure what the implication of the message is - if you spot a middle class child at five is falling behind, they shouldn't get support or it's not fair on brighter working class kids?
Anyway, one of my grandads worked in the Merchant navy and then a cigarette factory and the other was a plumber. They both (as did my parents) left school at 14. I'm not sure what they did had an impact on what I've ended up doing.
