exactly, there is nothing to gain for France and Germany
(who are the real king-makers in the EU) in allowing the UK to renegotiate terms. It opens up a can of worms that undermines the whole concept of the union.
If the UK leaves Europe then it would probably improve French and German exports; while damaging the UK economy and isolating it politically. Cameron is playing with fire by offering the referendum - just like he did with Scotland.
