Royal mail is/was a service - not a static asset.

Any service has to change to compeat, unless you through an endless pot of gold at it - sadly gordon had sold the gold.

Privatised it is now responsible for its own fund generation - so HAS to perform in a competitive market. We STILL have a royal mail that functions well and manages to compeat with other courriers. Cant really see the problem with that.
