Could RvWolfswinkel still have a future with NCFC under Alex Neil?

Word in the French media is that St Etienne don't want to buy him for 6m Euros. Wondering if he could still redeem himself at NCFC under Alex Neil, played in a different system? Or cut our losses and sell him for much less.
