So, not particularly tempting and, in the grand scheme of things, not that important. Promotion is everything. The title is just adornment.

Anyway... I agree that the Premier League can be a depressing place - but we did well for a season and a half, it was fun in the main and our reflections on those three years have been shaped by the manner of our leaving.

We endured 18 months of bilge and we f**ked up the cups. Go up again and hopefully we'lll try to emulate the attitude of that first year under Lambert and get the succession planing right for when he inevitably gets the Newcastle/Sunderland job.

Stay there long enough and you have a real chance of getting a good cup run going. Fulham and Middlesbrough got to Eurropean finals for f**ks sake.

Love the Championship, hate the Premier League - but if we want some glory, some real, proper glory, then that's where we need to be.
