What kind of thing do you want to see? Classical/Modern art? Buildings? Events?
The Peggy Gughenheim museum is one of the best modern art collections in Europe - loved it.
I prefrred it to the classical which was interminably catholic and sef flagellating.
*Always* use the vaparetto (canal buses) and get a pass for the length of your stay when you arrive if not before. You will be on and off them all day - it's a few quid and the view is exactly the same as the gondolas which are occupied by beaming girls and men with a dazed look on their faces having been recently relieved of up ?80.
And just walk around... keep walking... you really can get around the whole city remarkably quickly and everything single turn brings you somewhere new and fascinating. A Church, a square, and it's amazing how quickly you can feel like the only people in the city.
People think Venice is a massive cliche. I've been three times. It's the most impossibly beautiful place.
