Must be the Escort then. The Maestro replaced the Escort, and he had
the Maestro when I learned to drive in '94.
The Escort replaced two successive brown ("Gold") Vauxhall Vivas, which replaced a Morris Traveller 1000 that in a former life had been a police car. Dad once got pulled over by Babylon just outside Swardeston, for no reason other than the copper recognised the reg no as his old beat car, and wanted to meet the new owner. That was before I was born though.
