Ha - all that's fair comment

I never stated McNally was 'the biggest part of the problem' mind - I merely suggested that he *might* be. Back in the days, which already seem like another lifetime, when we were just drifting helplessly.

Meanwhile, on Swansea: sorry, but hello. What this appointment represents is an an attempt to emulate them or, in our wildest dreams, Southampton. The reason why last season hurt so much was we basically chucked it: it's like we figured "if we have to play like this in the Prem, what's the point"?

So we ripped it all up and started again - except we chose someone as ill-suited as it could get to lead that. Now we've got the man we want: now we have a real chance of succeeding both short term and long term.

I made this point months ago and will make it again now. I wasn't complaining because we were losing: I've seen Norwich City fail many times in my life. We all have. I was complaining because we didn't even give the impression of attempting to be successful.

That's what I meant with all that 'default Norwich' stuff from the start of the season onwards: that way was no way at all, and sold everyone unbelievably short at a time we could least afford to do it. You, meanwhile, appeared to automatically support it regardless of performances, results or anything else - and attack those who didn't too.

Well - we're sure as heck going for it now. That's exciting, energising and ultimately what football is all about. But overall: you might think that the failures of the last 2 years have been some accident which no-one could've foreseen. They were all very easily preventable. They've remained so this season. Belatedly, the club has finally realised that too.

PS. Oh, and on the best squad stuff. The quality of any club's squad is irrelevant if the manager can't set a team up properly and has no vision or plan. Then they're just a bunch of dishevelled individuals. When the manager can do all that, however, that's when it changes. Completely. Which is presumably why we rightly sacked a manager while 7th in the league and having won several games recently too.
