that's not a measure of any success. The measure of success is achieving higher rankings for your customers. Any fool can sell a technology solution to the technological-blind. And the key to any SEO/SEM campaign is understanding your customers business and giving them a personal service - hardly a ground breaking concept. I used to provide this service for the company I work for and frankly it was money for old rope - but I always got them where they wanted to be. I still do it now for friends and my own sites and to be frank it is a lot simpler now because Google have got it down to basically rewarding the content rich sites - which eliminates the black hat and a lot of the other tricks that used to pump you up the rankings.

As a business SEO is a bit like selling snake oil to the natives. With a little knowledge and a few hours a week there is nothing they can sell you that you can't do yourself.
