Surely if the club believes changing the coach is the key then that

in itself is an acknowledgment that Adams is not good enough/largely irrelevant unless the move has been made because Robson wouldn't let his boss lead training and Adams himself is now going to do all of the coaching.

If we bring a new coach in and we suddenly improve then that will not be evidence that Adams has what it takes to be a good manager. it will just be evidence that the new coach has improved us in a way that Adams couldn't and perhaps that new coach should actually be the manager!
