But we "trawled the whole of Europe" and appointed Neil Adams. That makes us a joke.

West Brom? They stole a march on us by staying up when we blew it in 2005. I think they've remained ahead of us essentially ever since: off the pitch, if not always on it. And when they went down, they bounced straight back up: wholly unlike us.

They're still ahead of us now, and it hurts. :(
