I don't accept that being an ex pro means you know more
Some managers (virtually all ex pros) are idiots who are terrible judges of players.
Many fans have watched us for years and years and know a good player or manager when they see one.
As it happens I don't think Adams is an idiot. He's generally doing a good job but that does not mean we cant disagree with certain decisions he makes and on this one I think he was wrong (just as virtually all fans disagree with him playing Martin at CB). I also think if he persists with the CM line up from sat in harder games it will cost is points. i don't lie awake at night stressing over it but those that blindly accept everything a manager does and don't have an opinion on things are part of the reason people didn't wake up to Hughton til it was too late. That line about trusting him as he knows more about football than any of us was trotted out many times by his defenders.
I'm really not miserable about it. I'm actually very much enjoying this season but the point of boards like this is for us to express opinions. The reason I posted what I did this afternoon was that over the weekend many fans expressed the view that dropping Tettey was madness but then rationalised it by saying they heard/suspected he was injured. Adams quotes published today show that was not the reason he was not in the team. I think that's relevant to the debate.
