I do not know
which is why I was curious what others might think.
The U21 is, despite the protestations of the PL, neither competitive nor a true stepping-stone to the First XI
Meanwhile the FL has blooded many future PL stars (Beckham, Lampard, Defoe) and turns boys to men.
But why turn our backs on U21 league - as Rickaaaaaay Martin said only last May, "We want to be involved in the best games programme possible, playing against the best teams home and away, because that?s what you want them tested against. We?re preparing our players for what is called the hardest playground in Europe..."
