Bring it. [SPOILERS]

I *loved* *loved* *loved* episode 1 of series 2. The commitment to 4:3 format, the blending in of news footage, the appropriation of Airey Neve's assassination, all of it (even though they got into lumber off of the Daily Heil, with I suppose a small amount of justification, I will admit. Naughty).

I think you're right that they've tuned the violence back a notch in series two. But, tbf, they've turned the dial to NINE from FUCKING ELEVEN ALRIGHT, so y'know, still quite violent.

I chatted to a lad from work about it while out for drinks on Thurs last week. He hadn't seen any of it then. Over the weekend he decided to try it, and lost the whole of Saturday binge-watching the whole nine hours so far. An enthusiastic convert.

I figured that Anton would end up being Carvel, right from his introduction, but they played the reveal out really well.

I was almost in tears when Arby/Pietre was saying goodbye to his new family. I bet he sees them again in next week's episode.

Arby/Pietre: best realised damaged-personality amoral psycho killer character in TV history. Compare with Christian Bale in American Psycho: not a patch on Neil Maskel. Not even close.
