I think its a bit unecessary

I'm not sure its brilliant man management to effectively "strip" RVW (and Bassong for that matter) of their numbers and to hand the No 9 shirt to Lafferty before he's earnt it. Ok they may be players he thinks are likely to want out but they are still players who, in the right frame of mind, could be very useful at this level.

Still what do I know. maybe RVW is the type who responds to a bit of pressure and Adams is a master of the mind games!
