Indeed. And just as an aside
I've ridden lots of sportives, and have never once seen that kind of behaviour (people 'trash talking' other cyclists, making fun of their weight, etc).
Have seen people on them behave like t**ts in lots of other ways though - mostly riding dangerously, one way or another.
Cycling does have plenty of snobbery within it. But that's a very strange example of it.
