Agree, I think definitely more exciting to watch this year than in 2006

I guess the team had better individuals in 2006. Players like Ferdinand, Cole, Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney were all consistently performing at the highest level for their clubs - especially in Europe, but the football was so stodgy and uninspiring.

Now there is no-one. Over half the team made up of Liverpool and Everton players - none of whom even played in Europe this season.
