What people don't understand is...
We'd probably NOT give Worthy a lump-sum.
The board, knowing full well that he'd get another job, wouldn't give him his 12 months up-front.
They would continue to pay him until he found a new job, and in finding that new job he would give up any further payments.
I should imagine that Worthy would be on more than any new manager that we could get in, so it would only be a matter of a few months inflated wages.
I'm almost certain that Worthy would find a job very very quickly if he left here.
That goes for his backroom staff too - I would assume that he would like to take them with him.
