Basically in that time, he showed the footballing world that he could cope at a bigger club where boards and outside people worm their way into the dressing room

He is the only choice here, because he ticks the relevant boxes which prove he can handle most situations

He isn't going to shoot his mouth off either, we saw that with his dignified TV persona on motd. Being a popular captain and ex player, it's total no brainer

If it isn't him, I'll be worried about what's going on at board level
