By having your attack attack your defence. They missed the chances not him. Them continually missing their chances killed their own confidence. Thankfully ingame derision from the stands was kept to a respectable minimum, as that wouldn't help confidence either. I'm not absolving him of all blame, no way, but no way am I dropping it all at his door either. They could've made their own, his and certainly our lives A LOT easier.
