Have to disagree there. To concede though, we did HAVE to play like that today
Simply because of the abysmal start we made. We didn't know whether to press or sit back. Exactly the same issues as Arsenal, Man U, Man C have had against them tbf. They're irresistible going forward, such pace.
We don't really know what a 'typical' Adams home game looks like tbh. Will we ever? Dunno. But what I do know is we did loads of stuff today that we simply wouldn't have tried under Hughton. Stuff people have been crying out for, such as attacking with pace. Attacking directly. Attacking through the middle. Fuck it - just attacking. It's not a great leap of faith to suggest that doing some of those things more regularly this season would've generated more points. Impossible to prove, as is the debate as to whether we're 'more open' as a result - it's Liverpool FFS.
The biggest things for me today? We didn't roll over and die when going behind. Unseen in previous two seasons. We changed it on the pitch, for the better, when it wasn't working. Again, unseen in previous seasons.
I think we're going down. But I enjoyed today, and I'll doubtless enjoy every game I go to next year as well.
