Villa have spent ?18M this year ?25M last

Wages are harder to pin down - but it was widely acknowledged that the salaries they paid a few years ago were crazy high. Much of the slimming down of the squad that Lambert's had to do was around that. Their wages are almost certainly higher than ours - we came bottom of the salary table last year and are only a place or two higher this. Villa were among the top 6 or 7 payers a year or two ago and they haven't slashed the wage bill or the squad that drastically (and have given Benteke a big pay rise to keep him there haven't they?)
