There are always teams who p!ss money up against the wall hoping that it'll work out.

As a general rule of thumb though, the amount spent is a reasonable indicator of what you need to invest to compete.

With that in mind, while spent a lot this year 'for us', in the context of what everyone else was doing we're pretty much just keeping pace.

Also, (QPR aside) the amount spent on wages is a big part of it - in those terms we're still certainly punching above our weight.

s'all in expectations in the end.
