Definitely go to see StreetLife Cycles on Nelson Street

just off Dereham Road. Ask to speak to Alex or Tim. Superb knowledge and never turn their backs on you when you have a problem. I like Specialized and their a Specialized dealer. If you could stretch to a bit more and try to buy the best frame you can. All other componentry will probably be upgraded throughout its life but the frame is a constant and a good frame makes all the difference. (Wheels do too but you can always upgrade those at a later date). I love cycles and cycling (I know I need to get a life) and I've spent quite a bit of dish on my bikes but I know one thing, the only time I've regretted it was when Id tried to keep the budget down and spent less than I should've. A good bike (ideally with a carbon frame (or at least carbon main tubes) is an absolute joy to ride. Doesn't have to be carbon, my TT bike is alloy and that's good to ride too but I'd prefer carbon for anything over 50 miles, the comfort is improved.
