Hadn't noticed that either, but then I did an experiment a while back in NL. I wrote down

an England team and asked what friends thought of it. Can't remember quite who was in the England squad at the time but it was something like:

James

Richards Ferdinand Lescott Cole

SWP Huddlestone Jenas Dyer

Bent Defoe

English friends responded somewhere along the lines of "Walcott on the left ?" "What, no Rooney or Gerrard ?!", "Huddlestone is overrated" etc. The Dutch friends all immediately noticed the entire team was black.

Funny old game.
