Technically I shouldn't answer this as I live in the city now, but...

...I didn't when I started supporting City.

Dad is Spurs - his birthday today (Mon) too, coincidentally, so I'll be calling him after the game Sunday for a debrief.

But parents divorced when I was only just into my school years (so too early to be taken to the Lane during the dark days of the early 80s) and Mum moved away from the Essex home to Lowestoft, via a brief stint at my grandparents in East Harling (Norfolk, near Thetford).

Best mate in Lowie was a City fan and we used to watch City videos round his and he'd test me on my City knowledge using his Panini stickers. Was a slow burner though and I kind of slept on the European & early Prem days.

Didn't start going 'til aged 17 in '96 (Ian Crook's testimonial first game, first league game 2-0 vs Swindon). Only the odd game in odd seasons (largely due to finances but also playing in Sat league) up until membership in the play offs season and a season ticket for the following 7 seasons, inc an away season ticket on our return to the Prem in '04 (by which time I was living in the city - from 03/04 onwards). Ditched ST largely due to finances as we sunk to L1 - did have an away ST that year for all the little grounds though. Back playing Sats again these days but still get to a few a season.

So no long line of City supporters or even Norfolk/Norwich dwelling family (half of family in Essex area, other half mostly migrated back to our West Country roots). Actually most of my family aren't even into footy and some of them sports phobic too. I also have a cousin who's a scummer! But growing up in Lowie you get used to knowing a lot of Town fans.
