should read The Monster Of Florence by Mario Spezi and Douglas Preston. It isn't about the Kercher murder, but recent editions have an afterword about it.

Fucking insanity. A mixture of politics, face-saving, career-making, superstition (huge numbers of people actually seriously believe in demons and witchcraft, as actual real things that are real). Actual truth, and the search for it, and justice, all come way down the list of priorities.
